This year has come and gone right before our eyes and much has changed for all.
Scott and I have both been avid bloggers in the past but have for whatever reason slacked off a bit. Blame it on our crazy life or laziness, whatever, we are both excited to start blogging again. Such a great way to not only keep our friends and family up to date on whats going on with us but also a great way to journal our lives.
Scott and I feel so blessed to have found each other and start our new life together, though, it hasn't been easy. Life is a bit chaotic right now as Scott has accepted an exciting promotion to a larger aircraft based out of the Salt Lake airport. He is loving the new plane he is flying. Its faster, sexier and well, just all around better than his last aircraft that was based in San Jose. In addition to that he is enjoying the people he works with much more. His boss, in particular, is fantastic and thinks the world of Scott (let's be honest, how could he not, right??) It is looking promising that in the next few months Scott will be promoted to a training captain at his base. His promotion has come at a great time and we are both confident it is a great blessing to us and our growing family...after we get through a few speed bumps in the road.
Ryder and I are still stuck, and I say stuck because literally that's how we feel, stuck in Folsom. Though we love Folsom, being close to our amazing family and our cute house, we love Scott more. The past couple months we have been enduring a court battle for permission for me to leave the state with Ryder. As the stakes are high (nothing higher than your child, right?) so has the hardship. Its been emotional and felt like a long drawn-out process (thought its really hasn't been long-drawn out in comparison to what it could be). So far, everything seems to look very positive for us leaving for Utah very soon... hopefully as early as next week! We had mediation, which for those of you who aren't familiar, is a court appointed child physiologist who speaks with both parents (Josh and I) for about 2 hours, then makes a recommendation to the court as to what would be in the child's best interest. Last week we received the mediation report back saying that it is her recommendation that I needed to be with Scott in Utah and Ryder needed to remain with me full time. Very reassuring. So Friday Dec 4th we will go to court in hopes of a decision from the judge. We ask for your prayers at this time.
In addition to that , we have fabulous news for those of you who aren't in the "know" we are expecting a new baby!!!! Its a boy!!!! (Scott couldn't be happier about this!) Luke Simpson will be joining our home sometime around March 17th! We are all so excited for a new little one. Ryder can not wait to be a big brother! I know he'll be fabulous! He loves talking to my belly and giving it little kisses. Very cute!
Hope all is well with all of you!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! <3
